“Ripple” Clouds

During the morning hours of Wednesday, November 28 (2018), several repeating rows of clouds appeared at the trailing edge of the cloud deck over the Ohio Valley:

These are known as “gravity wave” clouds or “mountain wave” clouds. Listen to Episode #026 below as we talk about how these clouds form. The photos below the podcast audio file go along with the audio.
