Episode #136: Notable Conjunction

The two planets, Jupiter and Saturn, have been heralding our attention in the evening (southern) sky for much of the summer and autumn. Now the pair is commanding our attention even more since they will visually pass very close to each other on December 21st. Some are calling this the “Christmas star.” It’s worth investigating from an astronomical viewpoint, as well as a quick look at some of the details that the Gospel of Matthew point to.
