Season 3; Episode #028
Today’s episode is a follow-up to Episode #027, except that instead of probing the geography of Greenland, I had the privilege of hosting Christian Elsner, one of the members of the popular Greenlandic band, Nanook.
As promised on this episode, here are a few Spotify playlists from Nanook, the second one from their most recent release in November of last year.
As heard on WKJA 91.9-FM on Friday morning (listen to the recorded radio segment below), here is a sweet new Christmas song (in Icelandic) from my friend, Jón Jónsson and his brother, Friðrik Dór called Jólabroðir (which means “Christmas Brothers”) with my translated lyrics in English below. BUT before you scroll down and sample everything, what you are about to here truly requires some cultural set up. Listen to the set up FIRST before listening to the song or the translated lyrics.

*”nice” is actually a word that Icelanders use often IN ENGLISH.
**”bro” is also another popular English word in Iceland for “brothers.”
What do you think? I’d love to know! Please leave your comments and I’ll be sure to forward them to “JJ.”
Here is Part 2 of my conversation with Gunnar Gunnarsson. All of the links mentioned in Parts 1 and 2 are posted below.
It’s ALWAYS a GREAT JOY to welcome Gunnar Ingi Gunnarsson from Iceland to WeatherJazz®. This is Part 1 of 2. On topic today: Volcanoes, and a ministry update from Loftstofan.
